Occupation Museum Ramallah (OMR)

As we drove through Ramallah with the Bus in November 2008 Majdi Hadid showed us a Book with Photographs
of the destruction of the town in 2002/ 03. One saw the demolished cars, houses and infrastructure and it was hard to imagine that it was exactly this area we were driving through because when one looked
out of the window one hardly could see anything that was comparable with the destruction you saw on the pictures. When I asked Majdi how the Palestinians managed to rebuild everything so quickly he answered that it is a Statement of self-respect that forces the people to reconstruct everything as quickly as possible.
This episode lead to the idea, that it would be good to have a place in Ramallah where the people of Palestine and tourists like us would have a place that is documenting the actual situation and showing the history of occupation through exhibitions while the reality on the ground is changing so quickly.
