aller Nationen der Welt, um Konflikte zu lösen, militärische
Gewalt zu verhindern oder demokratische Prozesse zu fördern? Was
unternimmt sie tatsächlich? Ist sie nicht vielmehr ein zahnloser
Tiger, instrumentalisiert von ihren mächtigsten Mitgliedern, die
je nach Interesse Resolutionen blockieren, Stimmen kaufen und, wenn nötig,
sich über fehlende Legitimierungen des Sicherheitsrates hinwegsetzen?
Was ist die UN mehr als eine gewaltige Diskursmaschinerie, ein alles auf
den kleinsten Nenner bringender Apparat, der die normative Kraft des Faktischen
jederzeit anzuerkennen bereit ist und somit die moralische Legitimitation
längst verloren hat. Von diesem Instrument haben wir nichts mehr
zu erhoffen."

"What is the community of all nations
of the world doing with regard to solving conflicts, preventing military
violence or supporting democratic processes? What are they really attempting?
Isn't it more than a toothless tiger, instrumentalized by the interests
of their most powerful members that block resolutions as they like,
buy votes and, if necessary, ignore missing legitimation of the Security
Council? What else is the UN than a huge discourse machinery, an instrument
that reduces everything to its lowest denominator, that accepts the
normative virtue of the actual and therefore lost its moral authority
long ago. From this instrument there is nothing more to expect."
