Tugendhat Bank, Modell (Tugendhat Bench, model) - 2015

Balsawood, approx. 24 x 25 x 10 cm

Like Mährische Bank, Tugendhat Bank quotes a semi-circular bench from Brno, found on the terrace of Mies van der Rohe’s Villa Tugendhat (1929/30). Here, the distorted perspective is based not on a painting as in the Perspektivobjekten, but on one of the few, now-canonical photographs of the villa that strongly shaped the architecture’s reception and international influence.
